Installation: Enter ResEdit and transfer all of the resources found in PrintReportTester into the stack in which you have your data(If you do not have a copy of ResEdit: It can be found in the MACPRO Roundtable;Page 480 of Genie). Note! The data stored in your stack should be stored in background fields. Next, copy the HyperRod's PrRep button found in PrintReportTester into the stack in which you have your data. While you are doing this you may want to also copy the HyperDisperce button also. Documentation on the HyperDisperce button is found towards the end of this documentation. Make sure that you paste HyperRod's PrRep button into the background. If you don’t know how to do this then look at the end of this short piece of documentation. Now you are rolling!
Explanation of what it does: HyperRod's Printer Reporter allows data found in background HyperCard fields to be printed. It allows the user to choose what fields he/she wants to be printed and also allows the user to use button checkboxes or radio buttons as printing flags, to control what cards are printed.
Added Info: If you hold down any modifier key when you first press the HyperRod's PrRep button you will be given some added control.
What are printing flags? Printing flags are checkboxes and radio button type card buttons that are used to determine if the data contained on the card is to be printed. Example: A checkbox is named PRINTIT. If the box is checked than the card data will be printed. Printing flags must be in every card throughout the stack. WARNING! If buttons are not in every card then undesirable effects will happen.
Added Bonus : Also included in the PrintReportTester stack is a HyperDisperce button. This button can be used to add printing flags to your files. 1) Selct the button you wish to be copied onto all of your cards in your stack. 2) <COMMAND> C to copy the button. 3) Press the HyperDisperce button. 4) Watch it go....
Pasting buttons into the background: 1) Copy the button. 2) Enter the stack you wish to put the button. 3) Press <COMMAND> B to enter the background. 4) Press <COMMAND> V to PASTE the button in. 5) Press <COMMAND> B to leave the background.
Strange but true: When these commands are used in conjunction with MPW they seem to produce constant system errors. I haven’t got it to bomb inside of HyperCard yet!
